A private IELTS tutor in Harare can give you more time to work on individual weaknesses. One-to-one coaching is useful when your skill scores are uneven or you need detailed feedback on writing and speaking. Coach Greens offers personalised preparation; the right approach depends on your target, current level and time available.
Use individual feedback effectively
Bring a recent essay or a recording of a Speaking answer to discuss with your tutor. Ask for a small number of precise improvements you can practise before the next lesson. For Writing, check whether your ideas answer the question and whether the paragraph develops them clearly. For Speaking, review where pauses, unclear phrasing or grammar errors affect communication. Repeat a similar task to see whether the change transfers.
Prepare for the IELTS test you actually need
Academic and General Training share Listening and Speaking, but have different Reading and Writing tasks. Academic Writing Task 1 covers visual information; General Training Task 1 is a letter. Both include a Task 2 essay. Preparation should develop task response, organisation, vocabulary and grammatical accuracy. Speaking practice should build clear, spontaneous answers across Parts 1, 2 and 3, rather than memorised speeches. Reading and Listening work should combine timed practice with a review of why each incorrect answer was wrong.
Turn practice into a realistic preparation plan
Start with your required overall score and any minimum score for each skill. Compare these with a timed practice test, then identify the errors that recur. For example, a learner at Writing 6.5 may need more relevant development and better sentence control, rather than more complicated vocabulary. Keep an error log and rewrite corrected work. Readiness depends on your starting level, available study time and progress; a fixed number of lessons cannot guarantee a band score. Ask Coach Greens about current lesson arrangements, feedback, fees and available class times before enrolling.
