IELTS coaching for nurses in Zimbabwe should match the registration requirements of the country where you intend to practise. The earlier claim that every nursing regulator requires 7.0 in every IELTS skill was incorrect. Check the current regulator rules and any accepted alternative evidence before booking a test.
UK NMC and New Zealand nursing requirements
For IELTS Academic, the UK NMC requires Listening 7, Reading 7, Speaking 7 and Writing 6.5. The Nursing Council of New Zealand publishes the same individual skill minimums. Each regulator has its own rules on accepted evidence, result validity and combining tests. Meet the rules for your own application rather than assuming that a single shortfall always requires restarting the whole process.
Australian registration is a separate requirement
Ahpra publishes its accepted English tests and score tables. Its IELTS Academic test pathway requires overall 7, with Listening, Reading and Speaking 7 and Writing 6.5. Check the relevant profession standard and any conditions on combining sittings or retakes. A visa score does not automatically satisfy professional registration requirements.
