PTE preparation in Zimbabwe should begin with the exact test version and scores required for your application. PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI and PTE Core serve different purposes and are not interchangeable. Check the test before paying the booking fee
Read the acceptance requirements for your intended application and note the exact PTE version and scores. Then check Pearson’s official booking system for current centres, dates and fees. Tuition fees and official exam fees are separate. Keep your identification details consistent with the booking requirements and allow time to develop your English rather than relying only on repeated mock tests.
Prepare for the current PTE Academic format
Preparation should cover Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening, including Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation, introduced in the August 2025 update. Practise understanding the prompt, selecting relevant content and responding clearly within the time limit. A flexible framework can help organise an answer, but memorised material cannot replace a relevant response. PTE Academic scores range from 10 to 90. Choose a target for each skill based on the receiving institution or authority, rather than assuming that a single overall score is sufficient.
Use practice scores to guide your next step
Practise with a computer and microphone, review recordings and track recurring errors in grammar, listening comprehension and spoken clarity. PTE uses AI scoring, with human experts also involved in assessing selected response content. Third-party practice scores are estimates, not official results or a guaranteed prediction. Pearson states that its official Scored Practice Tests use the official scoring engine. Results are typically available in two days, but can take up to five. Ask about current coaching options and study expectations; preparation time depends on your starting level and target.
